Finding Balance Through Faith and Simple Changes
Hey there, it’s just me again and I’m super excited to share a few things that have really been working for me lately on this health journey. 🙌
If you’ve seen my recent video, you know I’ve been serious about getting healthy — but not in a quick-fix, crash-diet kind of way. I’m doing this by God’s grace, with patience, prayer, and practical steps that actually fit my life.
Fasting That Finally Fits
Let’s start with fasting — I’ve jumped back into intermittent fasting, and wow, it’s working so well for me. I’m following a 16:8 cycle (fasting 16 hours, eating in an 8-hour window), which means I stop eating at 8 p.m. and break my fast around noon. Honestly, it’s perfect for me because I’m not much of a breakfast eater anyway.
Morning routine during fasting:
- No coffee until noon (this was hard!)
- Two Circle water bottles (22 oz each)
- Morning workout
I’m hydrated, moving, and feeling full of energy — all before I even eat my first meal.
Getting My Protein In (Finally!)
As someone who doesn’t naturally eat a lot, hitting my daily protein goal used to be a real struggle. Here’s what’s helping now:
Easy protein hacks:
- Collagen peptides in my coffee = 18g of protein
- High-protein wraps with meat, eggs, and cheese
- Smoothies with banana, peanut butter, and protein powder
This shift made a big difference in how I feel — stronger, fuller, and more energized.
Meet the Crimpit: My Kitchen Game Changer
I found this amazing gadget called the Crimpit — and it’s been a total win! It seals tortillas into little pockets you can pop in the air fryer. No mess, no extra work, and loads of flavor. It works great for my low-carb wraps.
Why I love it:
- Makes quick, high-protein meals
- Works great with leftovers
- Keeps my meals fun and creative
- My grandson even loved the pizza one I made!
And the bundle I found on Amazon came with both sizes and a recipe book. 10/10 recommend.
Real Talk: Why This Matters
This journey isn’t about looking a certain way — it’s about healing.
For years I struggled with stress-related health issues, including diabetes and diverticulitis. I was in pain, tired, and discouraged. But since I started:
- Fasting consistently
- Prioritizing protein
- Exercising regularly
- Sleeping better (7.5 hours last night!)
…I’m finally starting to feel like me again.
A Word of Encouragement
I’m not a doctor or a dietitian. I’m just a woman trying to get well — one prayer, one meal, one workout at a time.
If you’re curious about fasting or feeling stuck in your health, do your research, pray about it, and listen to your body. This isn’t about doing what I’m doing — it’s about finding what works for you.
Scripture for the journey:
3 John 1:2 (KJV) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Let’s keep encouraging each other. We’ve got this — one crimped wrap at a time. 💪💕
